Brownfield cooks gathered for Brownfield News Homemaker's School where 250 participants learned new techniques. Shelley Davidson of Austin demonstrated foods from bread made in a food processor to chocolate cupcakes with cream cheese frosting, Swiss steak from a pressure cooker, and spiced strawberry jam. Door prize winners included DeAnn Smyers, Glenda Fariss, Marie Sullivan, and Kaye Smith with gift certificates from local merchants.
