Brownfield police responded to a Monday morning call about damage to school buses caused by vandals Sunday night. Investigators examine the lot for clues and possible suspects as district officials assess repairs and safety.
A local column warns residents about itinerant home repair schemes invading the area and advises caution with solicitors. It also notes Brownfield High School Tennis team’s district championship with both boys and girls achieving perfect records, and reports several local thefts and vehicle damage incidents including shop and bus barn vandalism.
The National Weather Bureau reports the conditions through Saturday will remain dry and sunny. Temperatures will reach into the 70s in most areas with lows mostly in the 40s. Winds will increase at times but no dust storm conditions are expected.

The BHS tennis team earned a district team title with players Greg Hord Gayla Moss Molly Spain Cindy Willis Teresa Cargill Kay Lindsey Debbie Brower Tammie Bailey Teresa Hicks in the photo. Jerry Cosper a certified public accountant and partner Wilburn Ply have bought the Virgil Burnett firm. They will assume the Burnett practice on April 16 and plan to serve Brownfield clients. Cosper born Memphis Texas. son of Ada Cosper Paducah. raised Estelline. graduated Texas Tech 1970 with BBA in accounting. He previously worked for the IRS four years in Las Cruces New Mexico and Lubbock.
