Highway work on U S 62 discussed in Brownfield conference
A pre-construction meeting in Brownfield included the Texas Highway Dept City of Brownfield and Price Construction Co for a project on U S 62. The plan removes traffic islands resurfaces the highway from the Lubbock road north of town to Seagraves highway near John Deere with a projected finish between Oct 15 and Nov 15 and a cost near 971440 dollars.

Terry County Spelling Bee Set for March 16 at Brownfield
The Terry County Spelling Bee will occur Wednesday March 16 at 2 00 p m in the Brownfield School Board Room. Fifty Brownfield Middle, fifty Brownfield Intermediate, and fifteen Wellman Junior High students enter school level competition with two from each school advancing to the regional bee in Lubbock on April 16 1977.
