Firecracker Run slated Tuesday in Brownfield honors history
The 31st Annual Firecracker Run presented by the West Texas Running Club will be held at Terry County Park as part of Brownfield’s Fourth of July celebration. The event, oldest continuous Texas road race since 1969, features 3 and 10 mile adult races and a one mile youth race. Notable past participants include Gov. George W. Bush in 1978. Race records aim to fall as sponsors keep fees low with local business support. For info or pre-enrollment, contact James Leser or Joe Sears.
