State's oldest race sets schedule for Firecracker Run
The 31st annual Firecracker Run in Terry County Park kicks off Brownfield's 4th of July celebration. Started in 1969 by James Morris, it remains Texas's oldest road race with 3, 10 mile adult events and a 1 mile kids race. Notable past participants include Governor George W. Bush in 1978. City starts summer mosquito control program in Brownfield
