Funeral services are pending for Jim E Brannon 33 a Brownfield native killed June 17 in a car accident near Phoenix identified until June 23. Survivors include his parents Mr and Mrs L A Brannon of 1415. Orville Harvey Ribble 68 a 42 year resident of Seagraves had services at 3 burial in Seagraves Cemetery. Ribble died about 445 a m Wednesday in Seminole Hospital. A May native moved from Meadow Ribble was a retired farmer and church member. survivors include spouse Effie Jewell Hock two daughters Dorothy Sides Kayenta Arizona and Jewell Porter Pecos a son Gail Seminole a brother Cecil Seagraves a sister Jewell Walser Wentworth Missouri and six grandchildren Bailey Ireland 68 of Shallowater had services at 2 p m Monday in First United Methodist Church Shallowater with Rev Tommy Ewing officiating. Burial in City of Lubbock Cemetery. O V Alexander 56 of Lubbock formerly of Seagraves had services at Connally Funeral Chapel Sea graves burial at Spur Cemetery Spur. Alexander died from apparent heart attack. Survivors include three sons Randy Sundown Olen Palestine Gary Houston two daughters Ann Fletcher Ruth Mary Houston his mother Irene VanHoose Jacksboro three sisters Jeff Finch Seagraves Vivian Stencil Modesto Calif Lois Powell Abilene two half sisters Vonda Hickman Abilene Elma Tullis Jacksboro a half brother Jerrell VanHoose Jacksboro and nine grandchildren.
Mattie B Christopher 87 died in an Amarillo hospital on June 22 after a brief illness. She lived in Amarillo many years and was preceded in death by her husband W D Christopher about 13 years earlier. Survived by three sons Roy L Glendale California Key Amarillo Ray Brownfield one daughter Mrs Samuel P Willene Auslam Lubbock numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Funeral services were held June 24 in the First Methodist Church Miami Texas with burial in Miami Cemetery. Mrs Mark Choate and Tera Abilene spent time with her grandparents. Mr and Mrs Leon Lewis and Amantha visited in Snyder and Lamesa.
The Terry County Commissioners Court in Brownfield Texas invites sealed bids by 10:00 A.M. July 11 1977 for unit price repair and new work on roads streets and airports including seal coating slurry seal patching overlay paving and related drainage and base work per county specifications.
