Brownfield School Board approves furniture bids and buses
In a lengthy session the Brownfield School Board accepted bids for furniture, carpet, lockers, and two pickup trucks. Indeco and American Desk won lower bids on chairs desks and shelving, with totals around 33 000 for furniture 19500 for shelving and 4224 for 232 lockers. A pickup truck bid went to Kelsay Blacklock Chevrolet for 9078 46. Also approved bank depository with Brownfield State Bank and carpet bid from Highland Interiors at 34159 50 plus 800 extra yards.

City Receives 12000 For Special Projects
Brownfield officials announce more than 12000 will fund three Title VI projects creating temporary jobs for the chronically unemployed. South Plains Hit By Storms With Hail and Heavy Rain
A 150 mile line of thunderstorms swept the South Plains bringing gusty winds pea-sized hail and heavy rain. Brownfield recorded .52 inches by 7 am Tuesday while Plains logged 1.37 inches and hail. Crosby Garza Terry counties faced severe thunderstorm warnings. Roads flooded traffic lights failed and a blown irrigation pipe disrupted Seagraves Road.

Harvest Festival Date Set for Terry County Event
