Young Farmers Plan Panel Discussion With Hardin in Lubbock
Six members of the Terry County Young Farmers Association met in Levelland to organize a panel discussion with Secretary of Agriculture Clifford M. Hardin to be held in Lubbock in the fall. Local representatives from five counties formed committees to cover topics such as cotton labor lending agencies grains and agribusiness. Bridges said a county meeting will be arranged in two or three weeks to prepare for Hardin’s visit and improve farm program bargaining power.

Hartman to Receive National FFA Degree at Dallas Convention
Ronnie Hartman, son of Mr and Mrs A J Hartman, Brownfield area, will receive the Star American Farmer of Area II at the State FFA Convention in Dallas on July 17 1819. He began FFA work in 1957 with 4 H roots, later earning the Lone Star Farmer degree in 1967 and now the National FFA honor. He plans to attend the National Convention in October in Kansas City Kansas to receive his American Farmer certificate. He lives on a farm west of Brownfield and serves in the Texas National Guard.
