Police were summoned to a Thursday evening collision at E Buckley Street where Eula Lennis Burnett of 905 E Harris struck her head on the windshield of her 1966 Buick. The other driver was Vivien Nelson Brigance of 407 E Cardwell in a 1967 Chevrolet.

Thieves Take Money Machine From E&H Econ-O-Wash
Thieves pried open the back door and a cabinet to steal a money changing machine plus 175 dollars in bills and change from the stock room at E H Econ O Wash on Tohoka Road. The machine reportedly held 240 dollars in bills and half dollars. Damage estimated at 150 dollars with total loss 430 dollars. A second incident mentions a 19 year old, Bobby Gene Stowe, charged with auto theft and no license after taking a 1972 Plymouth from a club lot. Several items including Levi jeans and restaurant grease were also reported stolen along with a resident’s 232 dollar billfold. Others were charged with public drunkenness and breach of the peace with fines.
