Commissioner White announced a Family Land Heritage program honoring farming families with land in use since 1874 or earlier, requiring 10 acres and annual agricultural revenue of 50 dollars or more.

John H. Stockton Jr the county ASC director announces farmers must file intention to participate under 1974 programs and certify acreages by July 15 for cotton grain sorghum and other crops. Wheat and small grains require prior certification before harvest with other details on prevented planting and destroyed crop reporting deadlines.
Farmers with low wheat yields due to adverse weather must bring production evidence to the ASC office for qualification. Harvested acreage must be inspected before plowing stubble, with cotton and grain sorghum also eligible. Measuring service remains available at the ASC office though the Stockton office will be closed Thursday July 4.
Troy Bryant owns a 1915 Franklin once owned by A. A. Sawyer. He plans a $3,500 restoration, betting on high future value due to scarce Franklin production and strong supply demand. The car shows no rust with aluminum body work as a key feature.
