Reunion of Danish pen pal after 50 years in Europe
Madelyn Noble recalls writing to Jorgen Boden in Copenhagen as an eighth grader in New London Texas after World War II. The two kept a long distance friendship from 1947 to 1955, renewed when she visited Copenhagen, and both families later shared a bond over language and continuity. He and Mrs Boden welcomed her warmly and agreed to stay in touch, highlighting human connection over government channels and the value of cross cultural friendship.
