Terry County budget talks. 2007 plan eyed by commissioners
Terry County commissioners reviewed the preliminary 2007 budget figures, with Auditor Alan Bayer showing 2006 expenditures of 8,565,720 versus a proposed 2007 bottom line of 8,873,982. The increase of 309,262 mainly comes from General Fund, Road and Bridge, and Airport funds, including a 85,000 airport share for runway work. Additional sessions with department supervisors are planned before tax rate adoption on Sept 11, and the 2007 budget would take effect January 1. Also approved were June 2005 district clerk and justice of the peace activity reports, and the option to raise vehicle registration fees by 1.50 for a Child Safety Fund was rejected.
