Brownfield council approves swimming pool plan
Brownfield City Council approved Parkhill Smith and Cooper to draw the swimming pool and water park portion of the recreation project and adopted the Master Comprehensive Plan for 20 years. Engineer Holly Holder outlined a schematic design costing about 25000 dollars, with the new pool planned south of the current site while the old pool remains operating.

Fourth of July Celebration In Wellman Draws Hundreds
Hundreds of Terry County residents gathered in Wellman for the annual Fourth of July Celebration at Wellman Union School District grounds. The menu included hamburger and barbecued sausage, an auction, music by the Lone Prairie Band, and a grand fireworks display. Volunteer Oleta Burris served sausage during the night. It was the county’s only organized July 4 celebration.
