About 75 parents and guests watched 43 youths honored at the Terry County 4H Awards program held in The Party House. Alvin Davis hosted as 16 firms awarded achievements in categories like Meadow Beautification and Field Crops with many Brownfield families named.
Amarillo area Jaycees host the Outstanding Young Man and Outstanding Young Woman awards banquet at 7 40 pm in the new Junior High cafeteria. About 280 expected. tickets are 1.75. OYM winner to be named. previous year winners include Alvin Day and Winfred Tucker.
Funeral services for Mrs Kendrick of Brownfield were held Sunday at First Methodist Church with Dr Jones Weather and Rev W J Spreen officiating. Burial followed in Percy County Memorial Cemetery. Survivors include two daughters and a son, plus two brothers and several grandchildren. Kendrick was a longtime Terry County resident and tied to local banking and business history.
