Funeral services for E V Gillentine are planned for 2 p m Monday at Memorial Chapel of Brownfield Funeral Home with Rev Tom Morgan of Immanuel Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Terry County Memorial Cemetery. Gillentine 82 died Wednesday night after a long illness. Graves Elected Chief of Brownfield Volunteer Fire Dept
In the Brownfield Volunteer Fire Department election Bob Graves was chosen as Fire Chief for the coming year. He succeeds Philip Thompson who has served as chief for two years and will take the post after City Council approval. Graves, eight years with the department, previously served as Assistant Chief in 1963. The department has 24 volunteers and three full time staff. Graves and his wife live at 1106 E Buckley with two children, a 21 year old son and a Brownfield High School freshman daughter.
