Burglary Probed as Liquor Busts Rise in Texas County
A Brownfield burglary near Brownfield resulted in about $900 missing plus four large pearls from Milton H. Waggoner’s residence three miles north of town on the Lubbock Highway. Entry was made around 3:30 p.m. when the family was away. Police report multiple liquor arrests by Texas Highway Patrol with seizures including seven cases of whiskey and 16 half-pints of vodka. Officers also handled DWI and curfew violations, vandalism, and other thefts as the county Commission set salaries for officials including a constable and other county positions in a lengthy meeting.

Terry Chapter Honored At Texas Young Farmers Convention

Weldon Mason of Brownfield served as outgoing state president, Kenton Harvey of Azle won the forthcoming year’s gavel, and Roger George of Stephenville was named Outstanding Young Farmer of Texas.
