Chamber banquet honors Outstanding Man of the Year

The annual Chamber banquet celebrated Bruce Zorns as Outstanding Man of the Year. Ray Anderson became president, greeting many out of town guests as decor featured newspapers and a front page backdrop. A light request to start future meetings at 7 a.m. rather than 6:32 a.m. was noted.

Young Farmers Schedule Meet in Brownfield High Building

Terry County Young Farmers Association will meet at 7 30 p m today in the vocational agricultural building at Brownfield High School. Johnny Stockton ASCS office manager will discuss 1969 government programs for cotton and grain sorghum. A feedlot tour to Hereford Dimmitt and Friona is considered.

Outstanding Citizen honors Bruce Zorns at Chamber banquet

Group Seeks To Renew County Bracero Program in Terry County

Women invite town to meet on beautification project

The Women's League of Brownm field sponsors a city wide dinner meeting at 7 p.m. January 27 in the Oak Grove Cafeteria with George Patterson, Snyder city manager, as guest speaker. He will show slides of Snyder before and after its beautification effort and explain citizen led modernization plans. Tickets cost 1.50 for dinner, reservations due January 23. all welcome to attend the program even if dinner is not possible.

Meadow Council Seeks Help With Dampground Cleanup

Meadow City Council asked Terry County Commissioners for aid in cleaning up the Meadow dampground. Mayor Tom Vern er cited 18 acres of dumping ground now full due to usage from Lubbock Hockley Lynn and nearby areas and requested county debris removal assistance. Wayne Mullins to handle the matter. Also the American Legion Auxiliary sought approval to install a Flame of Freedom light on the courthouse lawn to honor veterans. The flame will be lit March 15 with Pioneer Natural Gas Co to provide labor and the county to cover annual gas costs about 127 dollars. Permission granted to place the light near the northwest square flag pole.
