Brownfield National Guard unit Battery B of the 36th Infantry Division will expand its recruiting next year after federal rules on enlistment expired. Captain Fred T. Adams says openings exist for all qualified men, with or without prior service, and invites locals to visit the armory to learn benefits of Guards service.

Petty Seeks Second Term as 98th District Rep
Levelland politician Olen R. Petty announced he will run for a second term as state representative of the 98th District pending the Democratic Primary on May 5. Large highway contract awarded to Lubbock firm for Terry Gaines district
A contract for 18.8 miles of highway work in Terry and Gaines counties, including State Highway 137, FM 1939, and U.S. 63 385, has been awarded to Henry L.
