Brownfield Police Catch Teens in Gasoline Theft
Brownfield officers on patrol Saturday night found three teenagers siphoning gasoline from a pickup behind Brownfield State Bank. The youths claimed the six foot hose matched the missing section from Henry Tankersley’s garden hose, tying the crime to the prior vandalism. An 11 year old Brownfield boy remains in trouble after a burglary arrest tied to a jacket left at the scene.

Brownfield schools plan to introduce new textbooks in geography music American history dictionaries physical science and vocational industrial education for grades from elementary to high school for a six year period. A local committee will examine the five approved titles in each area and pick the best to present to the board for final approval. Samples are on display at the high school and the public may review them during school days with checkout after 5 p m and return by 9 a m the next day.
