Two Brownfield Residents Die In Head-On Collision
Brownfield residents Jack Lucas and Ernest Rinehart died in a smashing head-on collision of a sedan and a pickup truck five point nine miles from town on Lamesa High Road Wednesday morning. Lucas was 2 years old, son of J W Lucas of 510 North Fifth, and Rinehart was a 45-year-old farmer of Route 1.

J O Gillham Brownfield State Bank president and P R Cates Brownfield realtor were hurt when their car overturned 86 miles west of Las Cruces New Mexico. Gillham suffered cuts and bruises and may be flown to Brownfield. Cates has back injuries and a fractured lumbar vertebrae and will be moved to Lubborok for further care.
