BRMC Named Texass Third Level Four Trauma Center

Brownfield Regional Medical Center earned designation as one of three Texas level four trauma centers and the only one in West Texas. Officials from the Texas Department of Health will present the designation at 1 p.m. Wednesday. Administrator Mike Click notes the upgrade allows stabilization on site before transfer to facilities like University Medical Center in Lubbock, and highlights recent ER upgrades and ongoing trauma network participation.

City council accepts bid on flexible membrane liner

The City Council accepted Ground Improvement Technology Inc the low bid for a flexible membrane liner for the new landfill amid scrutiny of the out of state firm. Four bids were received with three from Texas. If GIT fails to meet requirements the next lowest bid from Big D Lining of Midland would be used. GIT proposed 86431.75 while Big D bid 91992.35.

Scott Hamm Seeks Seat on Terry County Precinct 4

Scott W. Hamm of Wellman files for the Democratic ballot for Terry County Commissioner Precinct 4. Four plead guilty in 121st Court probation week actions

In 121st District Court six cases were handled with four guilty pleas and two probation revocations. Raymond Martinez admitted burglary of a habitation, received a seven year DOC term probated for ten years, with restitution of 927.25 and costs 84.50 plus 40 monthly probation fee. Jerry Vanstory pleaded guilty to driving while intoxicated, enhanced, with a 10 year probated sentence, 750 fine, 229.50 costs, 250 attorney fees, and 40 monthly probation fee. He also faces 10 days in Terry County Jail and residential treatment supervision.
