Spikes pleads guilty to fraud indictments
Former Brownfield banker Sam Spikes pleaded guilty to four counts of an 18 count indictment in Lubbock Federal Court. He admitted fraud conspiracy aiding misapplication of bank funds wiring 250000 to his account and sending a fraudulent letter to hinder discovery. Judge Halbert Woodward will sentence him later. penalties include up to 20 years and 12000 dollars in fines. Spikes built a banking network across Seminole Brownfield and surrounding areas.
