Lawmen and Firemen Face Back-to-Back Disasters
Brownfield and Terry County officials fought a deadly one vehicle wreck that killed 16 year old Sean Tomson of Docano and a house fire that left the Kino Garcia family homeless. Otis Murdick, 45, of Fort Collins, was injured. Tomson’s mother Carol Mason, 40, was treated for burns. Authorities responded near the Levelland Highway around 5:45 p.m., with rescue crews on scene over an hour. Firefighters then battled a second blaze at a home on the Lubbock Highway near Kino Garcia’s residence, with no injuries reported. Building permit totals for November show a jump to 483,000 with major projects listed.

Brownfield City Council approved six low bids under the Community Development Block Grant for residences on North Third North Ninth West Ripley and West Powell and North Third plus an additional North Third parcel. The panel also asked surveys at 4th and Webb and reviewed a pending Mr Gattis liquor license open in December with notes from the Grand Jury protest.
