Brownfield Police to Host 20 Hour Narcotics Seminar
Captain J T Churchwell announced Brownfield Police will host a basic narcotics seminar from 8 a m to 5 p m Wednesday through Friday. The 20 hour course is open to all area officers with instructor Carl Williams of Midland, Austin based Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education member.

Youth Loses Sight Of Eye In Box Tool Accident
Clay Forbes five-year-old son of Ronnie and Shere Forbes of New Home lost sight of his left eye while brothers Klint and Clay punched holes in a cardboard box with a screwdriver. He underwent surgery at Methodist Hospital in Lubbock and is listed in satisfactory condition.

Burglary Wave Hits Brownfield Police Log
Brownfield police records show multiple burglaries and thefts with four reports Wednesday. Larry's Chemical and Spraying saw a pry of the north door and damage to a soft drink machine estimated at about 50 dollars. a motel unit window entry yielded a shag rug and broken lamp and mirror with 125 dollars damage. A North 9th residence window screen was torn and four dollars in change reported missing. Investigators note continued property losses across the area.
