First Cotton Ginned Here in Terry County in 1959
First bale of Terry County’s 1959 cotton crop was ginned Wednesday afternoon as the News went to press. About 30 pickers gathered 2,000 pounds of seed cotton from Lynn Browning’s Route 5 Ta hok a farm and delivered it to North Gin Inc. The cotton was Lankart 57, dryland, planted April 19.

Cubs Season Ticket Drive For Five Home Games
Dilley Kelly announced a season ticket drive for the Cubs five home games. About 230 seats are reserved with books available at the school tax assessor’s office in the courthouse or at the office. Tickets cost 7.50 for the five games. Opponents include Colorado City, Las Mesas, Pecos, Menahans and Andrews with Colorado City new on the 1959 slate.

Price Family Reunion Near Terry County Draws 190 Attendees
Sons and daughters of the late Mr and Mrs T J Price who settled in Terry County in 1902 gathered for a reunion Sunday. More than 190 relatives and friends were served dinner. The event was dedicated to daughter Mrs Elbert Proctor of Route 5 with other present daughter Mrs Robert Whitney of 1206 Lubbock Road. Sons attending included Gay Price, Money Price, Bayne Price, Joe Price, and Lence Price. Sam Price was absent. Friends traveled from Lubbock Pampa Plains Odessa Graham Breckenridge Fort Worth Dumas Amarillo Brownfield and Tulsa.
