A donation fund is set up at First Federal Savings branches including Brownfield and other cities for Aaron Steagall who is slated to have brain surgery in California. He is the son of Dale and Cheryll Matlock of Brownfield. Donations appreciated.
Wayne A. DuBose of Brownfield was elected to the board of directors of the West Texas New Mexico Florist Association at its annual convention. He also received a presidential appointment to the special events committee for the Texas State Florist Association and was chosen as district chairman.
The Terry County Heritage Museum board met August 14 with Vice President Mary Jo Hardy presiding. Secretary Zelma Miller read minutes while Treasurer Pat O'Daniel reviewed finances and the group discussed securing a curator amid July 4 barbecue notes. Attendees included Walter Dee Burnett, Leslie Neill, Stanley Miller, Billie Ruth Shewmake, Cliffa Herron, Harriet Flache, Arthur Flache, James Stone and Vivian Stone.
Stacy LaRae Benton and Keith Raymond Serie wed in an evening ceremony at the bride’s grandmother Della Benton’s Brownfield home. Officiant Rev. I F Laing conducted the double ring service with ivy, brass heart motifs, and a cascade of fuchsia and white flowers. Parents are Mr and Mrs Steve Benton of Brownfield and Mr and Mrs Raymond Serie of Gretna Louisiana. The bride wore a satin and silk organza gown with beaded bodice and flowing veil. bridesmaids and attendants wore fuchsia satin, and the reception followed at the grandmother’s home with a tiered white cake and fuchsia accents. The couple honeymooned in Lubbock and reside in New Orleans where the groom works for Union National Life.
