Coach Charles Keese announced fall tryouts and workouts start August 18 with required physical exams paid by players due to league rules. About 60 boys expected. seniors and sophomores train 9 to 11 am and 5 to 8 pm, freshmen report August 25. Birth certificates must be filed in the principal’s office.

First National Open House Slated Friday

First National Bank staff and employees host a 50th anniversary open house Friday Aug 8 from 9 to 3 with guided tours of remodeled facilities and parking for customers. The bank, Brownfield’s first with a drive through window, moved into the building on March 13 1960 and offers a meeting room to the public. Commissioners OK Drivers Pay Raise and Succession

Terry County Commission ers Court on July 29 approved a $20 per day salary for part time truck drivers and maintenance operators. The court accepted bids for a new truck for Precinct 2 and the Quarterly Report of the County Treasurer. County Judge W T Mee Kinney presided and appointed John Forsyth to replace the late Phil Gaasch on the board.
