BISD Trustees OK short agenda and new teacher hire
In a brief session the BISD School Board hired Rocky Ford for the 1987 88 year with placement to follow after an executive session. Dellwyn McSpadden and Nadine Hoch outlined a team teaching approach in fifth grade and showed recent student work including The Newsy Knows newspaper project.

Sheriff Round-Up Weekend by Terry County Posse Rodeo
The American Association of Sheriffs Posses and Riding Clubs holds a three day event at the Terry County Posse Rodeo Arena with barrel racing on Friday at 7 p.m. A $1 entry fee applies. Saturday features an 8 a.m. executive board meeting and a 10 a.m. parade followed by queen gatherings, lunch, grand entry at 1:30 p.m., playday games at 2 p.m., and banquet and dance at 7:30 p.m. Sunday includes a 9 a.m. church service on horseback, a 11 a.m. trail ride, and an awards presentation at 3 p.m.
