Miss Mabel Vern Cooper of Brookshire wed Cosper King A Cooper last Sunday afternoon in Riddoch. The ceremony was performed by Rev. J. Gk Atkinson. The couple will reside in Mexia after a short wedding trip. The bride is the daughter of Mrs Pleasant, with many friends in the county.
Mack Milner of Houston will wed Miss Mildred E Trott of Seguin on May 27 in Seguin Methodist Church at 4 PM Rev Rylander to officiate. Milner, a familiar visitor here with brother in law R J Sisk Bay City, is known for oil royalties in the area and receives congratulations from the Tikes office staff and friends.
Last Friday evening about eight oclock Mrs W A Wilson was surprised by friends who called to wish her a happy birthday. Cards and outdoor games followed, with coffee cake and lemonade served. Attendees included Chas Trettin and wife Ed Neuman and wife Albert Glueck and family Theo Trettin and family Mrs John Nei Wan and daughter Henry Sturm and family Velma and Hattie Wilpitz.
The regular Catholic services occur Sunday May 25 at 11 a.m. in Sacred Heart Chapel with all Catholics expected to attend Maas. R McCauley sent a sack of potatoes and plums to the office Thursday. The infant son of Mr and Mrs E Putnam died Sunday morning and was interred in Grimes County. 4 H Muske led the funeral arrangements. J C Davis attends court in Hempstead this week.
County Clerk's report lists warrants outstanding on January 1 1929 funds received from ex-Treasurer C H Wist and 1929 transactions. It shows warrants issued and canceled during 1929 and the year end balance in each fund. The Jury Fund shows 3260.96 as received during 1929.
