The Davis No 2 well cavity from the three week old blowout has been filled and casing was brought to the site on Tuesday to restart drilling. The blowout occurred when drilling reached about 2900 feet.
J S Dozier of Galveston was here Saturday visiting relatives. The Monaville grammar school will hold its exercises tonight, Friday 16th.
Since May 2nd the subject has shown notable ability and accuracy. A photo on the front page of The Times last week marks a rare distinction for a Brookshire resident in its 17 years of existence. The note hints that candidates for office are few beyond precinct positions.

J B Anderson and wife visited Calvert relatives. Jack Freitag stayed in Houston for the Mechanics Convention. Miss Jimmie Dell Tubbs visited her sister in Temple. Dan Solomon went to Houston to see his mother and sisters. R B Bains and family from Baytown visited here. Charles Leggett and wife of Calvert were guests of J B Anderson and wife. Dr Martin and family from Houston were here visiting. S N Hovas and family from Houston spent Sunday here. Mr Rose and daughter Nora visited Beasley and Needville. Mrs Iris Reaster and Nora Rose joined Mrs Wander and daughters in Houston. Mesdames Bijbijian and Gra were guests of Mrs D O Martin in Houston. Bijbijian and Gra attended a Stafford barbecue in Fort Bend County Inez. B J Longshore left for Santha Mo to spend two weeks with parents. Kady Greer and wife and Mrs W J Donald and Mrs Edna Beyer were in Houston last Friday. Mrs Beyer stayed to visit her daughter Mrs T C Walker. A B Anderson and wife and Norris Pier Jr visited John Ernetes and family on their Dairy Farm near Katy Sunday afternoon.
A H Muske yields to friends urging his name for Justice of the Peace in Precinct 5. Supporters say his name will appear on the July Democratic primary ballot and urge votes on July 26.
Senior pupils presented a well acted play at Hempstead High School last Friday night. The school orchestra performed between acts with many fine selections. Attendance was reduced by high wind and threatening rain.
During an electrical storm last Tuesday evening lightning struck the Solomon home tearing shingles from the roof and burning out the fuse in the electric light connection.
A. Patty entertained a small circle Tuesday night at a river fish outing. Mrs. Stewart and daughter Miss Katherine from Simonton came for business Saturday. J G Kellner of Brookshire, a longtime settler and landholder, celebrated his 84th birthday Wednesday and remains active in the community.
E H Martins new brick store opened Tuesday with attractive display cases fresh flowers and a white brown marble soda fountain. A three day saloon sale offered bargains while Rice Hotel Coffee Co and Schotts Bakery provided samples. Mr Martin expressed satisfaction with the opening sale.
A heavy rainfall occurred Wednesday evening measured at 1.52 inches at the local gauge. Strong northeast winds accompanied by frequent lightning and thunder added to the storm.
Pattison School stages The Path Across the Hill a comedy drama in eight acts at the Pattison School Auditorium on Wednesday May 31 at 8 pm. Admission 15 and 25 cents.
The Times announces A A Jones candidacy for de election as Justice of the Peace in Precinct 5 subject to Democratic primary in July. The notice requests votes and support for A B Anderson Notary Public.
