Baccalaureate services will be held at the Methodist church Sunday at 8 PM. The program includes processional invocation by Rev J L Webb, songs, offerings, a sermon by Rev Webb, and benediction. TRY BROOKSHIRE FIRST.
A hearing will be held at the Hempstead Courthouse Texas on May 29 1939 to consider a petition by more than fifty qualified voters of Consolidated Road District No 7 Waller County. The petition seeks an election to authorize the district to take over roads and issue additional road bonds. Continued on Last Page.
The Pattison Lutherans plan to dedicate their newly purchased church with a 3 p.m. service followed by a picnic supper. Rev. Anton Froehlich of Messiah Lutheran Church Houston will deliver the sermon.
Jimmie Dell Tubbs led the Tuesday afternoon Bridge club with top points. Mrs. Adam Bijie and her daughter Dot visited Houston Saturday to see Huckelberry Finn. About 40 freshmen and sophomores from Katych enjoyed a swimming party at Hot Wells Friday night.
Catholic services will be held at Brookshire Catholic Church Sunday morning at 8 o clock. Parish members are invited to attend. all parishioners are welcome.
Two items for sale listed by Gladys Hotel and Mrs J D F Houck. A large barn and a three room annex building are advertised as cheap. A National Pressure Cooker, 18 quarts, used only two months, priced at ten dollars. Mrs Houck is in City.
