Prairie View Holds 60th Commencement for State Normal
The sixtieth annual exercises of Prairie View State Normal and Industrial College closed May 22 after degrees and certificates were conferred by Principal W. R. Banks. The commencement address was by Prof. C. H. Waller, state leader of agricultural extension for Negroes in Texas. The baccalaureate sermon was delivered May 21 by Principal Banks.

Last Rites Held for Harry L. Gordon
Harry L. Gordon 56 of Katy died at home Tuesday after 23 years in Katy and as a prominent rice farmer. Services were held Friday at Geo. H. Lewis & Co with Rev. Swain and Rev. Dubberly officiating. Burial at Woodlawn Garden of Memories cemetery under Brookshire Lodge No. 1066 A F and A M. Survived by widow Lalla and two granddaughters. Active pallbearers named. Honorary pallbearers listed. Community visitors noted in Houston and Rosenberg events.
