Waller County landowners are asked to attend meetings called by the County Commissioners Court across all four precincts to elect County Advisory Committee members under the State Soil Conservation Law. Judge Anderson was a week erld visitor in Brookshire. Maifest at Katy Hi was well attended Friday night. Miss Verna Grace Hoyt and John Terry Cobb ruled over the court as queen and king. Both are from Katy. The Brookshire fire department answered a call from Pat tis on Monday morning where Charles Taylor's house was threatened with fire. Little damage was done. Mrs. W. D. Mills entertained the Methodist Missionary society Tuesday afternoon at her home. Delicious refreshments were served. Mrs. Dick Cuny and Mrs. Tom Cuny of Hempstead were in Brookshire Monday visiting friends and seeing the flower show.

Flower Show Draws Outsiders to Brookshire Event
The Brookshire Garden club held its first flower show at the Donigan building drawing about 150 out of town visitors. Mrs George Rheman topped the scoring with 63 points, followed by Mrs J B Anderson and Mrs Joe Stastny. Local decor came from Hans Petterson of Houston and Stowers Furniture. Judge was S J Mitchell of Houston. County farm checks pending for about 40 percent of farms. remaining payments awaited.

Brookshire ISD Wins Tax Lien Foreclosure in 1939 Case
The Brookshire Independent School District obtained a tax lien foreclosure against Ben E Jenkins in District Court of Waller County under case 1497. The judgment amounts to 52.25 plus interest at 6 percent, with costs and penalties, leading to sheriff sale of the defendants’ property as delinquent tax lien.
