Announcement states revival services will start Sunday May 28 at the Brookshire Methodist Church Rev J Coy Williams will be the preacher for the meeting All Christians are urged to participate in work and prayer for a community revival Services will be held daily at ten in the morning and each evening at night.
Dr. L. L. Minke of Hempstead was elected president of the Texas state board of veterinary medical examiners at a Fort Worth meeting on May 16. He succeeds Dr. M. E. Gleason of San Antonio, and Dr. W. R. Sanderson of Brownwood was re elected secretary treasurer. The board announced exams for license applicants on June 19 in Fort Worth.
The revival led by Rev Wis Ditto of Houston continues through Sunday night with strong attendance. Katy attendees join and contribute to song services as Mr and Mrs T B Tucker perform appreciated duets for the gathered congregation.
This week The Times issued its edition later than normal due to several constitutional amendments finishing off press day for publication. It was deemed essential that those amendments appear within the week.
A special program will be rendered Sunday at eleven o clock at Brookshire Methodist Church. The Sunday school departments are in charge under superintendent Mrs Augusta Henry. Everyone is invited to attend this program and Sunday school at 9345.
Mrs. C. R. Lauderdale and Mrs. Ray Hogue with the former’s baby escaped a serious crash when their auto skidded on a slippery embankment after a light rain near Hempstead. Lauderdale and the infant were only bruised and scratched while Hogue was unhurt.
Justice Court opened Monday in Brookshire with Judge Coote presiding. County Attorney Wm F Jackson served in his official capacity. The principal docket item involved Mollie Hodge, colored, charged with disturbing the peace and assault at a church gathering, with additional testimony describing a beating of a loved person.
Mr and Mrs WH Martin and Miss Alice Hovis hosted a barbecue on the Brazos River last Sunday honoring their nephew Howard Hovan who will graduate from Rice Institute in June. Guests met at Mrs TT Agopian's home and later joined B D Leggett in preparing the meal. The party included many students and local families who later played games in honor of Howard.
Lawrence Wilkivson has been named valedictorian for Katy High School's senior class. He achieved an average of 90 for the year and stood out for exceptional grades across two classes.

Rai Sylva attended a swimming party and dance hosted by the Houston Shriners on Friday evening.
On next Sunday evening March 21 the Pattison High School graduating class will gather at the Methodist Church for its commencement sermon. Rev. W. W. Hardt, pastor, will preach. Class members include Lawrence Hammerling James Pattison Wilson Taylor Vera Gray Mattie Bell Taylor and Irene Martin.
A program will be presented at the school auditorium this Friday before the school closes next week. The public is invited with no admission charge.
Friends report Mrs. A. B. Anderson in Hempstead fell ill again with critical condition. A prior bulletin noted slight improvement after she had been moved from St Joseph’s to a relative’s home following care at the infirmary.
