Hot Check Artist Works at Columbus

Two young men presented Magnolia Pipe Line checks for 54.45 and 49.81 at local garages in Columbus. The First National Bank Dallas drawn checks were endorsed to C. G. Hunt and J Hamberger & Son. Both checks later returned as bad accounts while the suspects fled in a 1931 Chevrolet. direction unknown.

APPLICATION FOR FEDERAL FUNDS TO BUILD LATERAL ROADS

County Judge A B Anderson says state highway engineers gathered data in Hempstead on the Brookshire Hempstead road and the Field's Store Road from Waller to the Grimes line. The information went to Austin on July 28 to be reviewed before July 1 by the Highway Commission for Texas recovery act funds.
