Geiger Guest of Lions Club Speaks on Pacific Pathways

Sgt. Louis A. Geiger addressed the Brookshire Lions Club showing Pacific Pathways and Scenes in the Far East dur ing the War and After noting Japan’s postwar changes. He serves three years with the Houston Recruiting Office and leads the U S Army and Air Force Recruiting Station in Columbus Texas. The club honored Mrs. Alice Varley with a fitted week end bag after a meal in the school cafeteria.

Sealy Lad Killed At Railroad Crossing

James Wesley Kveton an eighteen year old Sealy boy died Saturday night near the San Felipe Crossing after a collision with a freight train while riding a 37 Indian Motorcycle. He was found Sunday morning 71 feet west of the crossing. no witnesses were reported. Funeral services were held at the Sealy Lutheran Church. Survivors include his parents Mr and Mrs Reese Kveton and a sister Ruth of Sealy.

L D Robinson Leads Florida tour for pangola grass study

L D Robinson traveled in a 40 member group from a Houston plant at 7 a m Monday for a two day tour of pangola grass in Florida. The trip was sponsored by the Agriculture Department of the Houston Chamber of Commerce Farm and Ranch Club and the Houston Fat Stock Show Association. The group returned at 1 p m Thursday. Robinson, advising Katy FFA, aims to pass knowledge on forage improvement to students.

Bettye Williams daughter of E G Williams of Katy graduates with highest honors from John Sealy College of Nursing University of Texas Galveston. Two Women Injured In Head-On Highway 90 Crash

Two women were seriously injured Saturday afternoon in an auto accident 314 miles west of Katy on Highway 90. Mrs Anna Hintz, 71, and her daughter Mrs Frank Schroeder of Houston were hospitalized by Schmidt Ambulance. Mr Schroeder was driving when their car was struck head on by a white trailer truck driven by Eddie Miller as it tried to pass another truck.
