Brick building planned for Muske Furniture and Undertaking
The two old frame buildings adjacent to the Solomon dry goods store will be torn down to make way for a new brick and tile building for Mrs. I. Solomon and company. A. H. Muske Furni ture and Undertaking will occupy most of the space with a small 18 by 34 foot area for rent. D. D. Butler is the local contractor. construction should start soon and finish by August 1. The 84 foot by 40 foot structure will feature three front entrances, a rear undertakers’ area, concrete floors, buff plaster ceilings, and modern amenities. L. M. Wirtz of Houston is the architect.

Hempstead Girl Weds in Church Ceremony
Miss Myra Weatherford and Robert Mills of College Station united in marriage at the Presbyterian church in Hempstead with Rev. George Steward officiating. Fire damages Katy home in stove gasoline explosion
Forrest Reed of Katy sustained facial burns when he lit a match to a coal oil kitchen stove spilling gasoline. A ceiling blaze started but he used a fire extinguisher to extinguish the flames.

A M Highrabedian will erect a brick and tile store on the site of the old frame building now being wrecked. Pete Nelson of Houston is the contractor. Construction begins about June 26. the 30 by 60 foot store will feature high grade brick front, plate glass, and tile walls. Waller County 4-H Encampment Planned
The first annual encampment of the Waller County 4-H Clubs is scheduled for June 30 and July 1 at Palacios. County agent J W Bush says six adult leaders will assist in recreation and education. Eligible club members must prepare a demonstration and maintain exact work records. At least 63 are expected to qualify.
