Farmers urged to cooperate in corn hog program

College Station Texas December 20 The extension service swine specialist E M Regenbrecht explains the new government corn hog program aims to reduce corn and hog production in 1934 to raise prices. Farmers who signed contracts must cut corn acreage 20 percent and hog production 25 percent and will receive payments per bushel and per hog. Payments scale with contract acceptance and administrative costs. Half the corn payment comes soon after contract acceptance with the rest next fall. The hog payment 2 dollars soon after acceptance plus future installments.

Sealy Man Is Hit By Passenger Train

Last night about six o'clock the Katy passenger train collided with a truck and trailer driven by John E Peschel between here and Cat Spring. Peschel, returning home with a load of turkeys, was brought to Sealy Hospital and found to have a broken leg.

Shower for Newly Weds Brings Christmas Cheer

A miscellaneous shower at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W D Donald honors Mr. and Mrs. Wm Thos Beamus newlyweds. The Yuletide decorations and evergreen accents created a festive setting with gifts under a bright tree. Forty to fifty guests attended and were served refreshments as old fashioned games provided entertainment.
