Waller County has been declared free of cattle ticks and its cattle quarantine has been lifted. A. S. Fletcher, tick inspector, will stay in charge of eradication work to prevent reinfestation. Harris County remains under quarantine. A fishing outing by several residents in Brazoria County yielded good luck.
A Christmas dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Max Wander featured several out of town guests. Among them were Mr. and Mrs. E. P. Staling and E. P. from Houston, Mr. and Mrs. Madison Sturdevant of Houston, Mr. and Mrs. John Menefee of El Campo, Miss Kate Bonner, Miss Maxine Dakin of Houston, and W. W. Wander and Son of Houston.
Fritz Ebel came back Tuesday from San Marcos where he spent Christmas with his wife and children. Mrs Ebel remains in San Marcos while the boys attend school.
David Agopi, ginner's statistician for Wall County, reports 10.1 bales ginned so far this year, up from 9.29 bales on the same date last year. Vernon Kelly of Houston visited relatives and planned to stay with his mother in Ne Ulm on Wednesday.
Mr and Mrs W A Wilson returned Tuesday from a hunting trip to Asherton Uvalde and into Old Mexico. Wilson bagged an eight point buck whose head is on display at Wirpitz market. The couple spent Christmas day across the border in Mexico as farmers rejoice over needed rain.Ready for the next prompt.
Judge A. B. Anderson of Hempstead traveled through Brookshire on Tuesday returning from Louisiana where he spent Christmas with relatives.
Mr and Mrs Chessel Gra Miss Mae Buller and Jack Donald visited friends in La Grange the first of the week.
A scattered collection of visits and family gatherings. A. C. Dozier visited brother Ed Dozier in Yalshear on Christmas Day. Numerous neighbors and relatives from Houston Baytown Madisonville La Grange and Fort Worth appear at homes dinners and local events. Spinach shipments by K Beyler reach Houston market despite a weak year.
