Mrs Hodge’s Daughter Seriously Injured
Mrs Hodge returned home from Port Lavaca where she had visited daughter Mrs James F Anderson who was seriously hurt in an automobile crash near Tripoli Calhoun County last Wednesday. She suffered skull fracture three breaks in left arm a broken pelvic bone and multiple other fractures. If she improves she will be moved to a Houston hospital for bone surgery within a week. Her husband escaped with only slight injuries.

School Health Checkup Urged for Children
Round up of children who will attend school this year urges smallpox and diphtheria immunizations and a complete health check by a physician and dentist. Funeral Rites Held Friday for Mrs. E. W. Brand
Mrs. E W Brand died after a lingering illness at her daughter’s home on August 9. A Katy resident since 1899, she was born in Unionville Iowa in 1883 and married Thomas Brand in Centerville Iowa in 1899. Funeral services were at Katy Baptist Church with interment at Magnolia Cemetery in Katy.
