Village board hearing on taxes and permits in Ogden area

Loan corporation and Draper and Kramer led objections to tax rates as village funds were debated. The board approved a survey, permit recommendations, and several construction projects including a five roast home on Madison Avenue. Parking site plans were referred to officials, while noise from a printing plant and a pigeon loft discussion drew citizen input and WWII pigeon lore.

Brother Killed In Plane Crash In Utah

Mrs Esther Coen of Brookfield lost her brother and his wife Mr and Mrs Dahlin of Sparta Michigan in last Friday’s Bree Canyon Utah plane crash that killed 52. Oden telegram confirmed the deaths. The couple had a nine year old son and were returning from a Florida vacation when the mishap occurred. Mrs Oden and her husband David traveled to Sparta for funeral services. The brother was a cashier at Lanning and Fisher’s grocery store on West Burlington Avenue.

Rehearsals Underway For Zor Cornzapoppin Show

A three act comedy Zor Cornzapoppin will be presented November 6 and 7 at 8 p.m. in Gross school auditorium. Proceeds go to playground equipment and library beds. Parents and Charter night at Congress Park school gym

Cub Scout group from Congress ink presents a Parents and Charter night program in the Congress Park school gymnasium on Thursday evening November 6. W Herbert of the West Suburban Boy Scout council will present the charter. Rev Bert Chamberlin of Congress Park Community church will accept on behalf of the church and pack. Bridal Shower for Lola Strickler Held in White Decor

Mrs. Charles Johannsen of 3214 Madison Avenue hosted a bridal shower Friday evening October 24 in Lola Strickler’s honor. Twenty six friends attended, games with prizes were played, gifts were opened, rooms were decorated in white with a bride doll centerpiece, and refreshments were served.

Boy Scouts Trip To Argo Refining Plant

Eighteen scouts and fifteen fathers from Boy Scout Troop 59 toured the Argo plant visiting machine shops bottling packing shipping and the cafeteria and canteen. A Chicago Stock Yards tour is planned for November 11.
