Funeral Services Held For Mrs Slanee Former Resident

Funeral services were held yesterday for Mrs Ju ling Slanee a former resident of Raymond Avenue. The 52 year old widow died in Chicago after a heart attack. Mass was said at St Odilo by Father Buckley with interment at Oakridge Abbey. She is survived by one sister and several nieces and nephews.

John J. Kennedy longtime Lyons resident died suddenly at home Tuesday morning October 8. Survived by widow Margaret sons John and Eugene daughter Evelyn Collins of 3241 Maple and two grandchildren Jean and Larry Collins. He was widely known in Brookfield.

Room for Veterans at Galesburg U of Illinois

The newly opened Galesburg division housing facility will accommodate 50 to 1,000 single students. YMCA Campaign in West Suburban Seeks 15000

Campaign leaders launched a drive to raise 15000 for a West Suburban YMCA program with a kickoff dinner at the Austin YMCA. About 47 attended, 42 men and women seating, and eight teams with 48 workers to solicit funds. The plan includes youth programs, eventual executive secretary, a woman’s director, and a comprehensive building with facilities for West Suburban communities.
