Parade marks Brookfield memorial dedication ceremony
A long parade led by Commander Markward moved along the boulevard for the Brookfield veteran memorial dedication. The event featured Father Macinerney and Rev Rog ers, with participants including Roger Hayford, Trustees Bush Cox and Gross, and groups from the American Legion, Red Cross, VFW, and Boy Scouts. The memorial shaft stands 10 feet high in a circular plot, with a 4 foot granite stone weighing a ton nearby bearing two Brookfield veterans' names. The project cost is estimated at 5,000 to 6,000 dollars.

VEW Auxiliary Meeting Highlights Activities and Gifts
VEW Auxiliary held its regular meeting on Wednesday November 9 at National Ball with initiation of Alice Jablonski and new applicants Florence Strandquist Alice Loess and Iniva der Kane. National president visited. Hines Hospital chairwoman Gertrude Gierman showcased Christmas gifts for patients. Brookfield Auxiliary donated $25 toward gifts. Christmas party planned for November 12 at 2 pm with Leon Nortier in charge and Florence Dresmel Florence Muky Novayasand Irenesa assisting. Members attended Congregational services for Armistice observance. Belle O Leary donated flag to War Memorial Association and wreath presented by Caroline Kraft. Fourth district meeting attended in Elmwood Park. Armistice smokes distributed at Hines on Nov 10. Next meeting date noted as November 18.
