A regular child health conference at Brookfield Health Center was cancelled. Mrs Elmi Hufi, public health nurse in charge, notes the next concference will be held December 11 from 2 to 4 pm for children up to six years.
A village clerk was sentenced to six months for contempt of court after entering jail following a failed writ of habeas corpus. Judge Kiam V. Brothers denied the writ in Circuit St. White received the sentence for defying a mandamus order related to Regular People party ballots on April 17, 1945.

D Polgar the mental wizard will appear at Riverside Brookfield High School auditorium Friday November 21 at 7 o clock.
Mrs Jacob Harabacek of 3643 Forrest Avenue will chair Brookfield 1947 Christmas seal drive announced this week. Christmas seals are the tuberculosis institute's only revenue source. The 1947 seal is the forty first issued and about five billion were printed for sale in the United States and Canada.
Mr and Mrs A G Brunson and daughter Mabel Hanratty and husband and aunt Mrs Alice Boyle enjoyed a dinner at the Vera McGowan tea room in Evanston on Tuesday of last week. The occasion was a birthday surprise for Mrs Hanratty, given by her father.
