Old Indian Trail becomes a fine modern highway
A long neglected route known as the old Indian Trail has been transformed into a paved road called the Troup road. Contractor Herriman finished a cement arch bridge at Spitler branch, 38 feet span, with ornate balustrades and wide approaches. The new grade rises above high water, easing travel for autos and linking with the J. A. Whaley road.

Executive committees of Jasper County livestock breeders meet in the county agent's office on September 7 and vote to cancel this year's show. They cite that most purebred stock is not in show shape and cannot be prepared in time. Plans may form for a show or county fair next year, but not under the Jasper County Livestock Association or county agent management.
