Bids Exceed School Building Budget by Four Thousand

Local Man In Auto Wreck Near Quince Hood Farm
Ormond Pruett, driver of an Essex owned by him, was injured when his car flipped twice and left the road near the graveyard by the Quince Hood farm while returning from his mother Mrs. Wm. Kline. The vehicle sustained major damage including a bent radiator, smashed lamps and fenders, shattered windshield and top. He was shaken and bruised with minor scratches, the accident described as a notable local automobile incident.

Soldier Burial Draws Large Crowd in Rensselaer
A large crowd from Brook attended the funeral of Dewey Biggs in Rensselaer on Sunday, said to be the largest ever assembled. Hundreds of uniformed soldiers escorted the remains to the cemetery, with Clint Heyworth of Morocco among pallbearers, having helped in France as well.
