Ellen 8 Troupe born February 27 1864 on a Washington township farm. She married Elwer C Light December 22 1887 and raised four children near Mt Zion church. She joined the United Brethren in Christ in 1895 and remained devoted to family and church. After paralysis in 1920 she died January 23 1921, with funeral at Mt Zion Church January 5 or 1921 and burial nearby.

The Wee Boys Class of the EB Sunday School held a Thursday evening party at Mrs. H A Lyons home. About fifteen boys and as many young ladies attended. They played games, showcased high jumping feats, and enjoyed a pretend zoo. Some girls sang while others played piano. A playful misstep led to a joke about eating partners.
