Husker Sam Bridgewater Sets Bushel Records

Sam Bridgewater, a corn husker south of town, aimed to husk 269 bushels in a day. He husked 201 bushels and 53 pounds in 57 70 minutes, averaging 100 ears per bushel to reach a high daily pace. He continues husking this week for a possible 160 bushels per day at 9 cents per bushel.

Stockholders Meeting Planned for Community Building

There will be a meeting of stockholders of the Community Building on Tuesday evening January 4 in the Library basement. All interested in the Community Building are invited. Bandits Hold Up Bank at Culver

Five masked bandits opened fire during a daylight holdup at the State Bank in Culver injuring two pursuing citizens and wounding R. Laine who is hospitalized in serious condition. Four robbers captured. three identified as Art Silbert J Burns Peter Fox. Fox Silbert and Burns jailed at Plymouth. Local helpers alerted authorities.
