First Vote Cast by Newton County Man in Indiana
Bennett Lyons of Troquois township Newton county Indiana cast his first vote for president at the state capitol in Indianapolis on Monday morning as Indiana’s electors met to vote for Warren G Harding. Lyons later attended a Trustees meeting at the Soldiers Home in Lafayette and was named to the Home’s Board of Trustees in recognition of his war record and service.

Young man charged with issuing fraudulent checks
Clarence Rash of Mt. Ayr was arrested Saturday after being accused of passing fraudulent checks by B. J. Dartette and John Figelstach. He waived a preliminary hearing and was bound over to the February circuit court term with 3000 bond per case, then released to his father’s custody that night.
