The report notes Indiana has 1 057 banks with capital stock of 69 420 000. Deaths by own action in Indianapolis fell from 10 per 100 000 in 1910 to 3 7 per 100 000 in 1920. March tops as the wettest Indiana month. Indianapolis temperatures dipped to minus 25. The 3west point in Indiana lies in Vanderburgh county on the Whic river shore at 316 feet. A major zoological park is in Lafayette, established in 1914.
George H Healey of the state printing board recommends declining Purdue University contracts with Haywood Publishing and Lafayette Printing for 1922. He says prices are 50 to 100 percent higher than the general state contract awarded to W D Burford. He estimates a saving of 15000 to 30000 if work moves to the general contract. Henry W Marshall and the Lafayette firms oppose the recommendation as officials debate the issue.
County commissioners discussed a major project turning the county farm of over 100 acres into a demonstration farm. County Agent Davis and Miam Honk er outlined plans for the year, including fertilizer trials and pruning and spraying of the crenard. Local car sales and visits by residents were also noted in the report.
Prof Geiger of Adiana University will speak in Goodland February 27 on American Songs and Song Writers. He will be assisted by Mrs Hazel Simmons Steele of Indianapolis, a leading soprano. Seats are on sale at Cooke's Drug Store. Also notes on local students returning from Chicago and Gary. Ex soldiers urged to contact Walter Buchanan for information on pension laws and rights.
